The eight member states of the Great Lakes Commission have unanimously endorsed six policy resolutions that will guide the organization's planning, research and advocacy activities in the coming months. Topics include support for/ comments on proposed federal ecosystem restoration legislation; use of sound science in coastal wetlands policy;
development of restoration goals for Areas of Concern clean-up; the need for a basinwide study of land use/ water quality impacts; distribution of port security funds; and funding for the Great Lakes Water Level Observation Network.
