As the GIS Manager for the Data and Information Management group, Pete Giencke heads up the design and implementation of geospatial applications for The Great Lakes Oberving System and related projects.

Prior to joining the Commission, Pete Giencke has spent time as a Jr. Programmer, Technical Lead, and Adjunct Professor. He holds a Master’s degree in GIS from the University of Minnesota with a focus on leveraging open standards and open source software in the development of advanced, web-based geospatial solutions.
