Become a GLIN News partner
The Great Lakes Commission is proud to unveil a new suite of
Great Lakes Daily News services on the Great Lakes Information Network
(GLIN).
|
Add a free Daily News box to your own web site!
The GLIN Daily News box offers a "window" to great lakes headlines that
can be placed free of charge on your own web site. HTML code for the
Daily News box will only need to be added *once* to an organization's
web page. Through the use of an active Java script, the content of the
box is updated automatically by the GLIN project team at the Great Lakes
Commission. This is a great way to connect with the larger Great Lakes
community and offer a handy service for regular visitors to your
organization's web site.

Search Great Lakes-St. Lawrence headlines!
All stories within the GLIN Daily News archive are now completely
searchable by keyword, news source and publication date. All articles
contained in the database focus on recent coverage of Great
Lakes-related issues by media in the United States and Canada.
Contribute to the Great Lakes Press Room! (note: demonstration page)
Find out how your organization can become a GLIN Daily News sponsor and
submit press releases, meeting announcements, research highlights and
related news to the Great Lakes Press Room. The intent of the Press Room
is to provide a single gateway to news from agencies and organizations
that focus on issues and activities associated with the Great Lakes-St.
Lawrence region. Once posted, the items would be publicly archived and
searchable by date, keyword and agency name.
Receive Great Lakes Daily News via e-mail!
Opened to the public on Oct. 9, 2000, this e-mail list brings daily
Great Lakes headlines to the inboxes of subscribers. By subscribing to
the Daily News listserv, you will only receive one message/day from the
GLIN Project Team. This is not a discussion list. The GLIN Daily News
section is updated Monday-Friday by noon.
Online since 1993, GLIN has been recognized as the primary gateway on the Web to Great Lakes-related news, issues, organizations and activities. Its usage has grown remarkably and now averages 2 million hits per month. In addition to environmental data, GLIN provides information about the regional economy, a thriving tourism industry, state and provincial demographics, and educational resources.
The Great Lakes Commission, chaired by Nathaniel E. Robinson (Wisconsin),
is a nonpartisan, binational compact agency created by state and U.S.
federal law and dedicated to promoting a strong economy, healthy
environment and high quality of life for the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence
region and its residents. The Commission consists of state legislators,
agency officials and governors' appointees from its eight member states.
Associate membership for Ontario and Quebec was established through the
signing of a "Declaration of Partnership." The Commission maintains a
formal Observer program involving U.S. and Canadian federal agencies,
tribal authorities, binational agencies and other regional interests. The
Commission offices are located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
