Travel and Lodging

The Great Lakes Wind Collaborative Annual Meeting will be held at Thwing Center, 11111 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44106 on the campus of Case Western Reserve University. Directions and parking information for the campus can be located at www.case.edu/visit/directions.html.

The evening reception on September 19, 2010 will be held at the Great Lakes Science Center, 601 Erieside Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, 44114. Directions and parking information can be found at www.glsc.org/visit/directions.php. The Science Center is a 10-15 minute walk from the Doubletree and Hyatt.

Travel to/from Cleveland:

Air: The nearest airport is
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE)

Train: Amtrak

Bus: Greyhound and Trailways

Public Transportation

To/From the Airport Take the RTA Rapid Red Line to/from the airport to downtown (Tower City Station) and Case Western Reserve University’s campus (Cedar-University station). It is about a 40 minute ride from the airport to downtown. If you take the rapid to University Circle Station you can either walk 0.7 miles or hop on a University shuttle (which run every 15-30 minutes) to get to Thwing Center.

To/From Thwing Center Thwing Center is conveniently located at the Cornell Stop on the RTA Health Line which runs East from Public Square to Case Western Reserve University’s campus. Busses arrive every 5-10 minutes from 5 am until 7 pm.

Fare (Bus/Rapid/RTA): You must pay your fare before boarding and keep your receipt as proof of payment. The machines will not provide change. If you get an all-day pass or 5-trip you must validate each time you ride.
    • 1-ride: $2.50 ($1.00 senior/disabled) per trip.
    • All-day pass $5.00 ($2.50 senior/disabled)
    • 5-trip $11.25 ($5.00 senior/disabled).

For your convenience, the GLWC has arranged lodging at two hotels in downtown Cleveland. Please use the links below to access each hotel’s group reservation page. All rates are based on double occupancy.
