Great Lakes Panel Meetings

The Great Lakes Panel on Aquatic Nuisance Species (GLP) meets twice a year in locations around the Great Lakes basin. Information on upcoming and recent past meetings is  provided below. Upcoming Meetings

Plans are underway for the fall meeting of the Great Lakes Panel, scheduled for November 2-3 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The meeting will be held at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory. More details and logistical information are provided below.

Schedule & Agenda

GLP ad hoc committee meetings will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2; the plenary meeting will convene at 1:45 p.m. The GLP meeting will adjourn by 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 3.  A reception will be held at the Arbor Brewing Company following the meeting on Wednesday (transportation provided). Meeting attendees will be responsible for their own lunch both days.

Note on other events: Wisconsin DNR will be hosting an invasive aquatic plant collaborative meeting on Tuesday, November 1. The GLWQA Annex 6 Subcommittee will meet on the afternoon of Thursday, November 3, possibly extending through the morning of November 4. Details for these meetings will be shared by the meeting organizers when they are available.

The meeting will be held at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL).

Transportation

GLERL is located approximately 2 miles from the Courtyard Marriott. Transportation arrangements will be made for those needing transportation between the hotel and GLERL; meeting participants will be asked to indicate transportation needs on the registration form.

NEW! Note about Detroit Airport transportation and the Michigan Flyer: Unfortunately, the Michigan Flyer no longer stops at the nearby Kensington Court hotel. Those wishing to take the Michigan Flyer from Detroit Metro Airport will be dropped off at the Blake Transit Center in downtown Ann Arbor and will have to transfer to the #62 bus to get to the Courtyard Marriott.
